Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your first deal.

What is Legit Escrow?

Legit Escrow is an online escrow service for digital deals. The buyer's payment is held for the transaction and only released to the seller after the buyer confirms the agreed delivery.

How does escrow protect the buyer?

The seller is not paid until the buyer reviews the delivery. If the delivery does not match the agreed terms, the buyer can open a dispute before funds are released.

How does escrow protect the seller?

The seller can see that the buyer has funded the deal before delivering anything, so they are not handing over assets to someone who may never pay.

How much does it cost?

Fees are shown on the Fees page and inside each deal before it is funded. Either party, or both, can agree to pay the fee.

What happens if there is a dispute?

Both parties submit their side and evidence in the deal room. The case is reviewed and funds are released, refunded or split according to the evidence and the agreed terms.

What can I use Legit Escrow for?

Accounts, websites, domains, software, digital products, gaming items, services and other lawful digital goods.

How long does a deal take?

It depends on the delivery and the protection period you set. Simple file deliveries can complete the same day; domain or website transfers may take several days.

Is my information private?

Deal rooms, dashboards and account pages are private to the participants and are never shown publicly or in search engines.
